Limington (est. 1792)

Limington lies between the Saco and Little Ossipee Rivers, adjacent to the Sebago Lakes Region. It is bounded on the north by Baldwin, on the east by Standish, on the south by Hollis and Waterboro, and on the west by Limerick and Cornish.

Sawyer Mountain rises 1,100 feet above sea level here and is a popular hiking spot. Residents and visitors enjoy picnics, swimming and kayaking at the Saco River rapids on Route 25.

Limington has a rich history dating back to the 17th century when it was a hunting ground for Sokokis and Abenaki Indians. Today, Limington is mostly a residential community with some retail and service businesses on the Route 25 thoroughfare.
